Dr. Maurice Butler

Dr. Maurice Butler serves as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for Son Rise Community Service Corporation (SRCSC). With more than 35 years of accounting and financial management experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, he brings extensive expertise in financial stewardship, organizational leadership, and strategic development.

Dr. Butler is an accomplished administrative and financial leader, author, educator, and serial entrepreneur whose work has supported nonprofit and public organizations throughout the United States and internationally. Through his consulting practice and entrepreneurial ventures, he has helped organizations strengthen governance, improve operational effectiveness, and expand their capacity to address socio-economic challenges in their communities.

As Treasurer of SRCSC, Dr. Butler provides strategic oversight of the organization's financial planning, fiscal accountability, and long-term sustainability. His experience in organizational assessment, leadership development, and strategic planning supports the Board's efforts to ensure that SRCSC remains well-positioned to advance its mission of empowering girls, young women, youth, and families through education, mentorship, and community-based services.

Dr. Butler holds advanced degrees in organizational management, business administration, public administration, and philosophy, and his service to communities has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, for his work within communities. Through his role with SRCSC, he is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen communities, expand opportunities for young women and families, and continue the legacy of transformational service that inspired the organization's founding.
